How to Create an Account After a Guest Quote
A Guest Quote Is a Look, Not an Order
A guest quote is a preview, not a workspace. Stay on that page and click Sign in or Create account. The CAD and price can attach to the new record. Logged-in quotes unlock quantity, material, extra parts, engineer review, and tracking. No claim code exists. If the preview closed, upload the same CAD again.
This page only covers how to move from that preview into an account.
One file, fixed quantity, read-only fields
The guest path exists so a buyer can see tooling and piece-price on one file before they create an account. It is intentionally narrow. One part. A fixed quantity. Read-only fields. You can look. You cannot edit the production scenario on that page.
No second parts, no resin, color, or secondary edits
You cannot add a second part as a guest. You cannot name a resin, a color, or a secondary on that page. Family tools and multi-part uploads belong on the logged-in path. Do not stitch two guest screenshots and call it a family quote.
Preview lock is not a minimum order quantity
The fixed guest quantity looks like a minimum because it will not change on that page. It is a preview lock, not a hard MOQ. NetProto has no hard minimum order quantity. Read minimum order quantity on a molding quote. Once you are logged in, enter the quantities you intend to buy.
The guest number is a look. The logged-in number is the buy. Treat the guest number as a decision aid, not an order.
What to tell sourcing: do not copy the locked guest quantity onto the PO. If they are still on the preview, create the account there. If they are not, open the instant quote platform after login and upload the same CAD.
The Claim Path Is the Same Page
Sign in or Create account on the guest result
There is no claim code. The page you are on is the only claim path. Founders often close the tab, register from the homepage, and expect the preview to be waiting. That is the miss this page exists to prevent. The record attaches when you open Sign in or Create account from the guest quote page you are looking at.
Session carries the CAD into the workspace
The guest page carries the session into Sign in or Create account. That is how the CAD and quote move into the new or existing user. Stay on the page that showed the number.
Homepage register is an empty workspace; re-upload needed
If you open a fresh register tab from a different page, the session is not there. A second buyer emails the screenshot to a colleague, registers later from a marketing page, and finds an empty workspace. That second buyer uploads again.
A worked keep: a buyer uploads one housing as a guest, likes the preview, and clicks Create account on that same page. After login the CAD and quote can attach to the new account.
What to tell sourcing: create the account before leaving the preview. If they already left, skip the hunt. Upload.
What Changes After Login
System prelim, then engineer-reviewed quote
A logged-in upload returns a system prelim. An engineer then reviews feasibility and sends a reviewed quote. Guest preview does not do that second step. Read how NetProto works for quote, DFM, tool, parts on one thread.
Edit quantity, name resin, add secondaries and parts
After login the buyer enters the real quantity, names the resin, and can add a matching latch. That is the production scenario. The guest page could not hold it. Color and secondaries appear on the same record.
Accept and track on the same record
Logged-in quotes are the path you accept and track. Read what happens after you accept a quote. Read online quote and order workflow for upload, read, accept, track. Tracking lives on the project management workspace. Guest preview is none of those four actions.
What to tell sourcing: hold the number as order-ready only after engineer review. The guest number was a preview.
If the Preview Is Already Gone
No claim code, no support lookup
If the preview has already disappeared, treat it as gone. You will not recover a vanished preview by searching email. Do not ask support for a claim token. There is no code to hunt.
Log in, upload the same STEP
Register or sign in, then upload the same STEP on the instant quote platform. You will get the logged-in prelim and the engineer-reviewed quote.
Guest number was a decision aid, not the accepted price
A bookmark to a vanished preview is just a dead tab. Closing the tab does not lose the part. It just makes you upload it again. The colleague who received a forwarded preview link was never on that page. The colleague uploads after login.
A worked miss: buyer closes the tab, creates an account from the homepage the next morning, and uploads again. Both paths end in a logged-in record. Only staying on the guest page keeps the preview without a second upload.
What to tell sourcing: if they still have the page, claim it. If they do not, upload.
Account Transition Checklist
Use this list so the preview becomes a workspace, not a screenshot archive.
- Finish the guest preview on the page that showed the number.
- Click Create account or Sign in on that same page.
- After login, edit quantity, material, or add parts if you need a production scenario.
- If the preview is gone, upload the same CAD on the logged-in platform.
- Wait for the engineer-reviewed quote before you treat the number as order-ready.
Step 1 is stay on the page. Do not close the tab to find the register form elsewhere.
Step 2 is the claim. Same page. Sign in or Create account. That is the only keep path.
Step 3 is the production edit. Quantity, resin, color, secondaries, extra parts. Guest mode could not hold those.
Step 4 is the recovery path. Gone means gone. Upload again. Do not wait for a token.
Step 5 is review. The guest number was a preview. The engineer-reviewed logged-in number is the one you can accept and track.
A worked submit block: guest preview still open, Create account clicked on that page, quantity edited after login, resin named, engineer review pending. That block can become an order. Screenshot plus homepage register cannot keep the preview.
Common mistakes at submit:
- Creating the account twice.
- Editing nothing after login and accepting the guest lock as MOQ.
- Asking whether the guest file is still in the browser cache.
- Bookmarking the guest URL and expecting it to last.
- Forwarding the preview link to a colleague who was never on that page.
What to tell sourcing: if they still have the page, claim it. If they do not, upload. Hold the number as order-ready only after engineer review.
What to tell purchasing: the guest number is a look. The logged-in reviewed number is the buy. No claim code exists.
